December 20th, 2009 - As the year comes to a close a quick recap of 4th quarter home sales activity in Napa County for 2009. October 2009 in Napa there were 116 closed home sales in Napa County. November we saw 95 closed home sale transactions in Napa County. For December 2009 to date we have seen only 74 closed home sales in Napa County.

September 16, Foreclosures continue to dominate the home market in Napa, Sonoma and Solano county. A new report by Realty Trac shows August foreclosure activity was the 2nd highest in U.S. history. RealtyTrac®, the leading online marketplace for foreclosure properties, today released its August 2009 U.S. Foreclosure Market Report™, which shows foreclosure filings — default notices, scheduled auctions and bank repossessions — were reported on 358,471 U.S. properties during the month, a decrease of less than 1 percent from the previous month but still an increase of nearly 18 percent from August 2008. The report also shows one in every 357 U.S. housing units received a foreclosure filing in August.
